How to Transfer Equipment

Summary: If UCSC has title to equipment, you may transfer that equipment to another department or campus.

How to do it:
1 Determine who has title to the equipment.
  • If you see two tags (UCSC Property and government) the equipment may NOT be transferred. Contact Janean Mariani, (831) 459-2355 for instructions on how to proceed.
  • If you see only one tag go to Step 2.
2 Complete an Equipment Inventory Modification Request (EIMR).
  • Check the "TRANSFER" box in the Transaction Type section of the EIMR.
  • Complete the FROM and TO sections, and the Equipment Identification Section.
3 Obtain signatures of the accepting party on the EIMR.
  • Send the original EIMR to the accepting party.
  • Instruct the accepting party to sign the EIMR and forward it to Equipment Management, 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz CA 95064 Phone: 831-459-2355, Fax: 831-459-3747.
4 Determine how the equipment will be shipped.
  • Contact the accepting department or campus to determine how to ship the equipment.
  • Once determined, contact Receiving Services, H Barn, 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95064; Phone: (831) 459-2852 FAX: (831) 459-3699.
